Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
The Margie Petersen Breast Center (MPBC) at Providence Saint John’s Health Center brings you some of the finest breast care in Southern California. Our team wants to change the way women look at their overall breast health. In preparation for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are participating in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk hosted by the American Cancer Society to raise awareness and money to fund research, support services, and continue making advancements in early detection methods. We walk to honor our patient’s journeys and to encourage individuals to learn more about their personal breast wellness.
Due to organizations like the American Cancer Society, research is constantly evolving and influencing the way medical professionals diagnose, treat, and follow breast cancer care. With the development of the Breast Health Clinic, breast cancer patients are being diagnosed and treated faster and more efficiently at the Margie Petersen Breast Center. Patients are educated on their personal risk factors and navigated through proper screening protocols based on their personal and family history. In addition to detecting cancer earlier, the Breast Health Clinic opens their doors to any patient with benign conditions or new changes to their breasts that warrants further evaluation. It is important for women to have a safe place to ask questions and seek medical advice regarding their breast health.

As caregivers of those affected by breast cancer, we walk to support our patient’s individual accomplishments and promote their amazing success stories.
