Kari Ikemoto Exter joined the outpatient nutrition team at Providence Saint John’s in April of 2017, but has been practicing as a registered dietitian since 2014 and a Certified Diabetes Educator since 2016. She earned her undergraduate degree from Cal Poly Pomona and completed her dietetic internship at Keene State College/Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Kari’s specialties within dietetics include oncology, diabetes, pediatrics, wellness, and sports nutrition.
Kari values the opportunity to support people throughout all stages of health: sickness, wellness, and everything in between. She enjoys wearing the many hats of a dietitian – from educator to recipe developer to researcher, providing her the ability to explore the many aspects of health and nutrition. Prior to Saint John’s, Kari was integral in the development of nutrition services at UCLA in the Radiation Oncology department. She helped establish an oncology nutrition program, providing over 300 patients with nutrition care.
