What You Will Learn

Breast cancer is one of the most common and well known cancers diagnosed in the United States. It can occur in both women and men, but is substantially more common in women. With increased awareness and support for breast cancer research, there have been many new advances to how breast cancer is treated.

Oncoplastic surgery is a new approach for treating breast cancer while conserving the natural appearance of the breast. Oncoplastic surgery combines the latest plastic surgery techniques with breast surgical oncology, so patients can have their cancer removed while preserving the physical appearance of their natural breasts during one surgery, without leaving the breast distorted or asymmetric.
