Born in Niagara Falls, New York, Dr. Kelly obtained an undergraduate degree in Cell and Molecular Biology at State University of New York, at Buffalo. Subsequently, he pursued graduate studies at Roswell Park Memorial Cancer Institute and a medical education at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University.
Subsequently, Dr. Kelly did his residency in general surgery and urology in Los Angeles at the Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Los Angeles. Dr. Kelly was invited by Dr. Stanley Brosman, his former Chief of Urology to begin private practice at St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica.
Dr. Kelly is an expert in transperineal, fusion biopsy in the diagnosis of prostate cancer and in Focal Ablation of Prostate Cancer. In addition, he has special training in the management of complications of urological care including penile prosthetic surgery for men with erectile dysfunction and artificial urinary sphincter surgery for patients with post-prostatectomy stress urinary incontinence.
