Melanoma Symposium 2025

We are pleased to welcome medical professionals to the 3rd Annual Santa Monica Melanoma Symposium, hosted by the Saint John’s Cancer Institute on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows.

This year’s symposium features a distinguished roster of speakers from top institutions, including UCLA, Cedars-Sinai, MD Anderson, Moffitt Cancer Center, and City of Hope. Highlights include Dr. Roger Lo on the molecular mechanisms of melanomagenesis, Dr. Jonathan Zager on the management of advanced metastatic melanoma, and Dr. Jennifer McQuade on the impact of diet and the microbiome on immune response. Dr. Kim Margolin, Medical Director of the Saint John’s Melanoma Program, will present on novel immunotherapy strategies, while Dr. Inderjit Mehmi will address the complexities of non-cutaneous and acral melanoma.

Attendees will gain insights into circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) assays from Dr. Matthew Hedberg and learn about the role of Mohs surgery in melanoma care from Dr. Nima Gharavi. Dr. Vivian Wu will discuss the management of head and neck skin cancers, and Dr. Richard Essner will present on the role of microRNA in melanoma progression.
