The Cancer Support Community of Los Angeles honors Dr. Linehan on Thursday, May 18th, 2023, for their Gilda Gala at The New Mart in Downtown Los Angeles, California.

The Harold H. Benjamin Innovation Award is named for Cancer Support Community Los Angeles’ founder, who revolutionized the cancer community in 1982 through his Patient Active Model, which encourages patients and families to actively participate with their physicians in their quest for a better quality of life and hope for the possibility of recovery.

For 40 years, Cancer Support Community Los Angeles has been providing free, no-cost psychosocial support and services to persons living with cancer – all ages, all diagnoses, and at all stages – and their loved ones. CSCLA partners with community-based organizations and hospitals, including Providence Saint John’s, supporting the shared mantra of individualized patient care and compassion to provide the best quality of life possible.
