Dr. Seena Safavy graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology. He then went to medical school at the UAB School of Medicine. As a medical student, he developed an interest in urologic surgery and research. He subsequently completed his urology residency with Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles, California. During his residency, he authored multiple manuscripts and presented his research at both national and international meetings. After residency, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where he worked as a urologist in a large multispecialty practice. After working in Atlanta for several years, Dr. Safavy decided to focus his career entirely on urologic oncology. This love for urologic oncology inspired him to pursue further training with the prestigious faculty at St. John’s Cancer institute.
