Jose Carrillo, MD, is a board-certified neurologist and neuro-oncologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of primary and secondary brain tumors, including glioblastoma multiforme, primary CNS lymphoma, meningioma, and brain metastases, as well as the neurologic complications of cancer. In addition, Dr. Carrillo is involved in the enrollment of patients into several clinical trials.

Dedicated to advancing medicine, Dr. Carrillo is a strong proponent of leading-edge research in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of all types of CNS tumors, including metastatic brain and spine tumors, primary malignant brain and spinal cord tumors, primary benign or low‐grade brain or spine tumors, and skull base and pituitary tumors. His particular research interests involve neuroimaging brain tumor features and molecular markers pertaining to treatment and survival.

Dr. Carrillo is an Associate Professor of Neurology at the Saint John’s Cancer Institute and has been recognized by Coast magazine as a Physician of Excellence, and by L.A. Magazine as a Rising Star in the Southern California Super Doctors edition.
