Laura LaRose, MSN, RN-BC, AGACNP-BC, AOCNS, is a hematology-oncology nurse practitioner with over eight years of experience. She has a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Specialist from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). Ms. LaRose’s inspiration for nursing came in her early 20’s when both her parents were seriously ill and hospitalized. Her desire to make a difference in the lives of others, to be there for people when they are at their most vulnerable, and to make a hard and stressful time less so for a patient, continues to reinforce her passion for medicine and nursing.
Her education began at the University of Connecticut (UConn) in Storrs, CT, where she received Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She worked in a market research position for a number of years and then returned to UConn for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her specialties and nursing interests include oncology, bone marrow transplantation, pain management, and palliative care. She is board certified in pain management and oncology nursing. She also volunteers with both the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
